Jacob Bezner
Associate
My practice involves working with clients across the firm’s practice areas: criminal defense, employment, higher education, and appeals.
Prior ExperienceI joined Zalkind as an associate in 2025 following a clerkship at the Massachusetts Appeals Court, where I worked for a judge who spent over a decade in criminal defense before joining the bench. In law school, I championed the rights of workers and consumers through internships with a Boston-based law firm that represents only workers and unions, Greater Boston Legal Services' Consumer Rights Unit, and the New York Attorney General's Bureau of Consumer Protection. I was active in the BU Law community as a lead organizer for the Boston University Graduate Workers Union and a legal writing teaching assistant for both J.D. and LL.M. students. I also represented BU Law in a national moot court competition, earning an award for oral advocacy.
Why I Became a LawyerI went to law school to work for working people. I know the deck is stacked against workers and criminal defendants, and I believe everyone deserves both a zealous advocate and a compassionate ally. For many, being fired or charged with a crime marks the worst day of their life. My mission is to make that day not the end of their story, but the first step toward a better chapter.
